Carillon Hotel And Spa History – From Then To Now

Carillon Hotel and Spa History – From Then to Now

The historic Carillon Hotel — once the epicenter of post war culture in Miami Beach – now is home to the Carillon Hotel and Spa, with detours along the way.

Designed by legendary Norman Giller – the “father” and grand master of Miami Modern architecture – it became a landmark in the 1950’s and “the” place to rub elbows with the rich and famous.
The Club Carillon was a glamorous night spot where guests were entertained by big name performers of the time, and gathered at the Tambourine Lounge for cocktails and conversation.
But, times changed and the Carillon faded. However, revival was spawned by developers who brought the Canyon Ranch brand to Miami Beach. The developers painstakingly restored the building to its former glory, with a fusion of luxury condominiums & hotel suites in the historic Central (Carillon) Tower, which now houses the state-of-the-art wellness fitness center & spa. New construction was added with the South and North Towers.
History revived, the refurbished original sign of the Carillon was ceremonious lit for the first time in decades on January 16, 2007.
The property continues to maintain the luxury, wellness niche and is located in a walking neighborhood with restaurants, drug stores and all conveniences. Among its many accolades, the Carillon Miami Wellness Resort was awarded 2019 Best Wellness Experience by Departures Magazine.
Guests and residents enjoy an array of classes & lectures from early morning to evening 7-days a week. They pamper themselves with de-stressing, restorative and re-energizing body work & spa services. They relish the extensive hydrotherapy circuit available to residents and hotel guests at no charge. The old has become new again… and now better than ever!
